Although working is absolutely necessary to survive in our modern climate, finding the perfect balance between pleasure and business can make your day to day lives more enjoyable. When you work for please, you are able to develop more work-life balance. This generally tends to lead to a happier work environment and career satisfaction. Treating yourself for your hard work is a great way to remind yourself that work does not always have to be strenuous and boring. Working partially for your own pleasure can do you wonders in the long run.

Treating yourself is a form of escape. Buying yourself that one purse or bag can be a great way to reward yourself for all the dedication and consistency that you have placed in your job. However, this is not the only benefit. When you learn to reward and treat yourself, you are also practicing self-control and working towards a long-term goal. We all have that one friend who seems to live paycheck to paycheck, despite her salary or income. By setting a reward for yourself, you are essentially training your brain that good things come to things that wait. Plus, it serves as a great motivational booster for those who have trouble getting out of bed every morning.

Work for pleasure and look at the highlights at your job! Every job has its ups and downs – it is important to focus on the positive and not the negative. When you focus on the greater sides of things, your outlook and approach on life changes. Treating yourself can be that perfect light at the end of the tunnel that can re0ignite the fire that will inspire you to give it your very best, and help you fall in love with your job even more. A good starting point is to make a list of all the things you love about your job. Look at all aspects. After, make a similar list about all the things you dislike about your job. Regardless of which list is longer, it is important to put everything out on paper and focus on the goods. There are always options when it comes to the bad side of works. If the commute is bothering you, train yourself to wake up ten minutes earlier. If a coworker is bothering you, speak to someone about it. Putting together a list of both pros and cons can truly put things in perspective.

Remember that it is just as important to treat yourself mentally as well. There is no shame in leaving work a bit early to help pick up the kids. Your mental health is just as important to your life as your career is. With all the madness going on at work and home, it can be hard to fit in time for ourselves. Regardless, it is absolutely necessary to avoid burnouts and continual fatigue.

If at all possible, try scheduling some paid time off with your boss. Try compromising for a weekend off to take a mini vacation with the family.

Whatever the game plan is, remember that is it just as important to have reasons to be happy as well as reasons to appreciate your job. Remind yourself what and who you do it for every single day. Treating yourself is much more than what it seems. Treating yourself is absolutely necessary for a fulfilled sense of happiness!
